antique American Empire Sofa couch from the 19th century in great sturdy
condition. It is a large 92" long sofa standing on carved lions paw feet
on front and back, a high seat back with a round empire top rail trimmed
with spiral end. The arm rests are rolled and curled with sprial ends as
well. It has a red velvet mohair like fabric on it that probably dates
to the early 1900's. It is large, heavy and sturdy sound. Fabric in good
condition needing only cleaning. Finish on the wood looks to be original
and in good condition with normal finish marks from over 100 years of
use. One back foot has metal plate reinforcement that was done when
upholstered long ago. Great presentation and in demand of a large room.
It stands 56.5" high and 27" in depth from front to back. nice old
